Biosafety Level Three (BSL-3, ABSL-3) Facilities

Extensive BSL-3 and ABSL-3 level facilities are available for collaborative or contract work with qualified entities at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute. The ABSL-3 facilities allow for inhalation exposure of pathogens for efficacy studies. The facilities have been cleared by the CDC for the handling of Select Agents and toxins.

LRRI's Select Agents registration allows LRR to conduct research using the following agents in vitro and in vivo (mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, ferrets, dogs, nonhuman primates) for instillation (aerosol, intranasal, intratracheal, intraperitoneal, intravenous, oral, gastric [gavage], subcutaneous, dermal, intracerebral).
