Biosafety Level Three (BSL-3, ABSL-3) Facilities

Extensive BSL-3 and ABSL-3 level facilities are available for collaborative or contract work with LRRI. The ABSL-3 facilities allow for inhalation exposure of pathogens for efficacy studies. The facilities have been cleared by the CDC for the handling of Select Agents and toxins.

LRRI's Select Agents registration allows LRRI to conduct research using the agents listed below in vitro and in vivo (in these animals: mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, ferrets, dogs, nonhuman primates) for instillation (aerosol, intranasal, intratracheal, intraperitoneal, intravenous, oral, gastric [gavage], subcutaneous, dermal, intracerebral).
